The Relay

We invite you to take part in the relay and practice your voyageur skills as a coureur des bois!​

 

New this year is a family category so that everyone can participate!

Join us for this exciting team event and get your cheeks rosy

on a long winter's night!

The Relay

The relay consists of you and your team
of 4 (or 2):
  •  voyageur’s sprint with your flag and a fur bundle (flag and fur bundle provided) 

  • portaging (pulling/dragging) a two-person canoe across a field on our predetermined obstacle course

  • sawing with a buck saw until the tree cookie drops (adults only) or showing off your strength by stacking wood quickly (family event)

  • try earning some time off your run with your axe-throwing skills (ages 9 and older)

WHEN:

Friday, January 31 & Saturday, February 1st

from 6:30 to 7:30pm for families 

and from 8:00  to 9:00pm for adult teams

Rutherford School (8620 91 St)

HOW:

Your teammates and courage! 

AGE RESTRICTIONS:       

Buck sawing: adults only

Axe throwing: ages 9 and older

 

How to register

We invite you to bring your team of 4 (or 2) to the Rutherford School yard on Friday, January 31 and Saturday, February 1, 2025.

 

Registration fee donation

The relay will be $20 per team as a donation to the festival for all who want to sign up.  (We also accept donations to the Centre Communautaire d’Edmonton, a charitable receipt will be issued)

Prizes will be given to the top finishers of the night!
