He has provided guidance to generations of young musicians, inspiration to his peers, and thrilled audiences with his heartfelt and brilliant improvisations.

Lisi Sings Lhasa is a heartfelt tribute to the luminous songwriting of the late Lhasa de Sela, performed by Canadian vocalist Lisi Sommer and an all-star ensemble of folk, jazz, and world musicians. Lisi Sings Lhasa is both celebration and remembrance—an evocative journey that honours Lhasa’s spirit and stirs the heart.

A native of Edmonton, Trevor Cooper is a classical guitarist who has travelled across North America and Europe, with stops in Toronto, Seville, Alicante, and Salzburg. His prodigious technique is always in service of the demanding repertoire that will be presented in this unique concert.

The adventurous and exploratory music of bilingual albertan Ariane Mahrÿke Lemire is a blend of vivid lyrics and fresh melodies. It is folk-poetry with a touch of rock, often laced with beatnik flavours and at times... a little county.

Montuno West is a cross-regional Canadian ensemble that fuses Afro-Cuban folklore, Latin jazz, and global music traditions. Their music blends deep respect for traditional forms such as Batá drumming, Santería songs, and Cuban folkloric rhythms with
contemporary jazz harmonies and improvisation. The result is a vibrant, rooted, and forward-looking sound, combining technical mastery with emotional resonance.

Ever since the release of his debut album in autumn 2022, singer-songwriter Fred Dionne has been making a name for himself both on stage and in the media. Highways is the name of his debut album and live show featuring bohemian country-folk music in French, the album offers a genuine portrait of the reflections, moods and realisations a young adult might experience whilst far from home.

The Ensemble has been active since 2006 and has dedicated itself to promoting new music and pursuing its deep fondness for Latin music. The quartet’s repertoire consists of unique string quartet hits such as music by Astor Piazzolla, Kent Sangster, Allan Gilliland, Chris Andrew, Radiohead, Maria Schneider, Geoff Li. tangos and jazz standards. And, of course, a few favourites by M. Ravel, A. Dvorak, S. Barber, S. Tsintsadze, Karol Szymanowski and Grażyna Bacewicz.
